Job Summary:
The Demand Planner is responsible for developing accurate demand forecasts and providing critical insights to support effective supply chain planning and logistics management. This role will require close collaboration with cross-functional teams including sales, marketing, production, and procurement to analyze historical data, market trends, and customer behavior to optimize inventory levels and facilitate efficient order fulfillment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain demand forecasts based on historical data, market analysis, and sales inputs.
2. Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to gather relevant information and insights for accurate demand planning.
3. Analyze and interpret market trends, customer behavior, and external factors to identify potential demand variations and proactively adjust forecasts.
4. Monitor and review inventory levels to ensure alignment with demand forecasts and inventory targets.
5. Conduct regular demand planning meetings with key stakeholders to review forecast accuracy, address gaps, and align strategies.
6. Identify and implement process improvements to enhance demand planning accuracy and efficiency.
7. Collaborate with procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and components to meet demand forecasts.
8. Generate reports and provide insights to senior management regarding demand planning performance, inventory turnover, and supply chain optimization opportunities.
9. Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices related to demand planning and logistics management.
10. Maintain effective communication channels with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure smooth execution of demand planning activities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Minimum of 3 years of experience in demand planning, logistics management, or a related field.
3. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and identify patterns.
4. Proficiency in demand planning software and tools.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
6. Solid understanding of supply chain principles and logistics operations.
7. Proven ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
8. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in forecasting and data analysis.
9. Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
10. Knowledge of forecasting methods and statistical models.
